A 1HP and 1.5HP impeller look very similar, and if you're not careful, you could pick up the wrong part. If you lose prime now, you have a leak in one of the hoses. To relieve pressure turn the relief valve on top of the filter counter clockwise. kfcrandy - The impeller is not your problem unless it is clogged. the indents (I guess keeps the seal from spinning) are up towards the ceramic seal and it seems I would have to force the seal passed the lower metal to get to the indents?

If you water was dirty and you ran that water through the filter, the filter may need to be cleaned several times to clear the fine debris out of the filter. I ended up with 3 metal gaskets that I don't know where they belong and cannot find them on the schematic and still have no prime.
If bolts were numbered 1 though 4, replace bolts in this sequence - 1, 3, 2, 4 - to ensure that the motor is set properly inside the housing. Replaced my shaft seal but now when I start the pump it tightens up so much on the impeller it locks up. mckyd68 - Sounds like the bolt is stripped.

If you do not see the diffuser or its gasket, check inside the housing. Please remove them. I have a Purex 2hp Whisperflow pump. Make sure the plastic strip is in place between the clip and capacitor so that the capacitor does not short out.
