With full suction and no beater bar in use this is great on bare floors. The head is a little smaller than my old vacuum which is good and bad, it gets into spots my old one couldn't but being narrower it takes more passes to clean the floor. Our previous vacuum tried too hard and would spit leftover debris out of the back that it would neglect to suck it up. One issue however is that the body sticks out in the front pretty far so you cant go underneath furniture very much, maybe about 6 inches or so. There are two filters which can be removed and cleaned to maintain vacuuming power. For large spaces it makes it more tedious but for smaller tighter spaces it fits nicely so that evens out. I like that it shows you with light how filled the bag is. So far, my only con is that the vent on the canister is positioned as such that if you pull back towards you (while vacuuming) and you have the handle down at a lower position, the warm vacuum exhaust tends to occasionally blow right in your face. Overall if you have a lot of thin rugs or tight thin carpet or want one thats large to cover a large space in a fast amount of time it may not be the best option for you.
